Les Mémoires
Rilla Maritt

Valerie's memorial web site is so beautiful.  I first met Valerie at your Del City Tea room and rememgber both of the girls as special young ladies.  I was fortunate again to see Valerie at John & Barbara William's 50th Anniversary.  At that meeting, I was so amazed at Valerie's happy, upbeat attitude, as I had read all of Sharon's emails keeping us abreast of Valeries trials and triumphs over the previous year.  What an AMAZING WOMAN!!!!

My love, prayers and admiration goes out to Valerie's lovely, strong family at this most difficult time.

Love, Rilla

Seldom in this world do you get the chance to meet, enjoy true frienship and feel the power of true Christian love!  We were blessed to find this with Gene and Sharon and their wonderful family!  My first memory of Val was her wedding day and Oh, how beautiful she was!  Over this short time,  I have learned what a beautiful person she was inside too!  She brought joy to her family, there was always laughter, and later with her illness she brought courage.  Such courage!  Her Faith and Love of the Lord never tired, no matter the odds.  I deeply admire this enitre family for their never faltering love of each other and our Lord through this journey.  Our prayers will continue that you find comfort knowing Val is Home now.  Little Kennedy, I am sure, will be your daily reminder, of what a Blessing Val was to this life.  We love you all !

We remember Valerie as a beautiful young girl, a joy and blessing, an encouragement and Christlike example, a precious friend to our own daughter, full of fun, with a heart for her Lord and for the salvation of the lost in the world.  Our hearts ache for her loved ones, her family.  We will all carry with us her sweet memory, and look forward to the day when we will rejoice with her in heaven.  Find rest in the Lord, from this journey you have taken with her, and know that her reward is great. Our prayers have been with you all, and will continue.

Valerie is home safe,Praise God.From the tiny toddler to the wonderful Christian woman who touched every life she encountered with loving kindness, Valerie has been an immeasurable gift.I still see her toddling around holding to Kris' hand following Regan and Kimi. Her smiles and laughter, her wide-eyed innocence, and later her humor and energy. The world is sweeter and better because God loaned her to all of us.See you soon Val.God bless, shelter and carry you all through this.May His love light your days and comfort you in His arms through the nights.I love you all so much.Donna

To know Val was to know her humor! After I received my doctorate, she asked me one day, "Elizabeth, do you tell your family to call you Doctor? Because after I got my master's degree, I began making them call me Master!" I laughed so hard at that statement and still chuckle when I recall that visit with her. Val could see the light in everything. She was such a bright, pleasant, vivacious woman.
